On the north end of the NSL seems as if there's a plaque commemorating the North Shore at the Milwaukee Station site. Thanks Jay C,.for the info! I will try to get up there and get some pictures.
This is the view near my fire station near Jackson and Belvedere in Waukegan. It is the Right-of-Way. Notice the poles/standards?
Top- view of the former SOO-CNSM interchange, looking southeast. Today's METRA/WC Mundelein Station appears in the distance on the right-hand side. The CNSM lead curved away to the left.
Bottom- On the former CNSM R-O-W west of Prospect Ave., looking southeast at the former site of the CNSM Mundelein terminal. The apartment building occupies the former station site, while the apartment driveway occupies the R-O-W. This photo also approximates the photo of the station that appears on pg.74 of CERA Bulletin 107.

Top- looking west from Prospect St in Mundelein at the R-O-W of the passenger car storage yard. The former southbound connection followed the telephone pole line to the SOO away to the left, while the northbound connection curved to the right.
Bottom- former site of the St. Mary's of the Lake platform on the former CNSM Mundelein branch. Located directly across Rockland Road/ Ill Rt 176, this platform site is difficult to identify. The front gate of St. mary's is visible at the top left, while what may be the platform remnants appear in the foreground. OUt of site to the left is the driveway to Mt. Carmel High School, while behind the photographer is the scholl's parking lot. This parking lot was the temporary terminal for the famous Eucharistic Congress of June 1926.

Top- On the North Shore Bike Path bridge at Roundout over the Canadian Pacific (former Milwaukee Road), looking south. The southbound Amtrak Hiawatha Service run is changing tracks in front of the former Milwaukee Road Roundout Station platform, and is crossing over the Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern. At the top left, behind the SOO/EJ&E tower are the remains of the Milwaukee/CNSM freight exchange.
Bottom- former CNSM Roundout station site. The dirt washout to the left is the approximate location of a wooden stairway that led to the CNSM station platforms, while the concrete overpass carried CNSM Mundelein Branch trains.

Top- looking east from the Milwaukee Road/CNSM Roundout interchange towards the former CNSM Scale House location.
Bottom- looking south from near the site of the former CNSM South Upton tower towards the former Skokie Valley Route near Lake Bluff.
